A feminist author unloaded on a Twitter user earlier this week who pointed out that Democratic Alabama Senate candidate Doug Jones supports abortion, staunchly declaring that “fetuses aren’t babies.”
Jennifer Wright, a Harper’s Bazaar contributor, declared that because unborn babies are the size of lemons, they shouldn’t be considered humans. She said this in response to a Twitter user commenting that Jones “supports killing babies.”
“For fucks sakes, fetuses aren’t babies. Pretending they are is wishful thinking. They’re the size of lemons and can’t survive on their own. You don’t know any humans who are lemon sized,” Wright quote tweeted the Twitter user Monday.
“This notion that actual humans should have fewer rights than a cell cluster based on some scientifically hilariously unfounded notion that the cell cluster is whispering ‘mama I love you’ inside your womb is EXHAUSTING,” Wright continued.
Some Twitter users were quick to ridicule Wright’s argument on why babies in the early stages of development shouldn’t be considered “human.”
