A video has surfaced online of a man giving a rousing rendition of the famous speech from the movie “Miracle” while in a school library.

Barstool Sports posted a video of the speech, and captioned it, “Using Herb Brooks ‘Miracle’” speech for finals motivation is some next level stuff.”

I don’t think this is an overreaction when I say this man is an American hero. This is one of the greatest speeches in the history of sports, and there is absolutely no way you can hear it and remain unmotivated. Every kid in that library just got a guaranteed A for simply being in the same room as this guy.

On a side note, I actually did something very similar to this my junior year at Wisconsin. I didn’t give a speech but I did quote this part of the movie to my dad right before a test.

I was doing absolutely awful in a literature class, and was bordering on getting a really bad grade come the final. It was a whirlwind of problems in the days leading up to the final. I stayed up for 48 straight hours before the exam, had a family member die in the same time period and had pretty much accepted the fact I was failing this final. You have no idea what exhaustion feels like until you don’t get a single second of sleep in two whole days. It’s not an experience I would ever encourage anybody to attempt.

The last hour before heading into the test were just spent watching sports speeches on YouTube. It literally did way more to get me ready than actually study. My dad shot me a text right before the test to ask how I was feeling about it. I responded with, “I take this test 10 times and I might fail nine, but not this test. Not today.”

I got an A on the final, and passed the class with a barely acceptable grade. I don’t know if Herb Brooks legendary speech is the only reason I passed that class and exam, but I have no doubt the motivation from the speech was one of the main reasons.

It’s without a doubt one of the greatest speeches you’ll ever hear in your life.
