MSNBC guest Nicholas Burns said Monday that it is a “major problem” President Trump hasn’t recognized Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
Burns said, “I find it so distasteful that the President consistently repudiates both the FBI and the CIA which are critical agencies for American national security.” (RELATED: Bill Browder: We Don’t Know What Trump’s Position Is On Lifting Russian Sanctions)
He added, “It’s positive that the United States is working with Russia on issues where we can converge, and certainly counter-terrorism is one of them. But the bigger issue here is that Russia hacked our election. That the president hasn’t recognized that, and he’s not done anything to organize the federal government, and our state governments, help them to prevent a recurrence of Russian interference in the 2018 in 20 elections. That’s a fundamental responsibility of the American president. The fact that the President is silent on that, consistently silent, I think is the major problem.” (RELATED: MSNBC Panelist Makes Comparison To D-Day Over Russian ‘Hacking’ Of Election)
