Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles hit back hard after Houston Texans player Jadeveon Clowney called him trash.

Bortles didn’t need a whole lot of words to end the situation. He simply said, “if the way we’re playing is trash, then I’m fine with being trash.”

This move from Bortles is great. Lots of athletes would have gotten bitter or not responded. He simply stuck to the facts.
The Jags are currently 10-4, looking great to make a playoff run and Bortles has had a very solid year. No need to get down in the mud. Meanwhile, the Texans are a complete mess. They’ve won a grand total of four games this year — not exactly blowing us away with their performance.
Bortles has also been dragged for most of his NFL career, and plenty of pundits have dogged his play. It’s nice to see a guy like him finally turn the corner and start winning. You’ll really see some heads explode if he manages to win a couple playoff games.
