Parents of students attending a Connecticut school are furious they weren’t given the chance to use a visit by Ivanka Trump to protest the president.

According to the Washington Examiner, Ivanka’s surprise appearance at Norwalk Early College Academy did not provide time for the parents to keep their children home from school as a means of demonstrating their disapproval of the first daughter and her father.

“This should have been brought to our attention, although I do understand security reasons. I think we should have had the choice to send our child to school or keep them home,” parent Karey Fitzgerald related in an interview with News 12 Connecticut on Monday.

Apparently, not all parents were forced to expose their children to Trump’s visit and some expressed relief to News 12 that they were able to remove their children from the school in time.

Trump was non-plussed by the oversized reaction to her presence, merely tweeting, “Great visit to Norwalk Early College Academy today with @IBM CEO @GinniRometty.”

“PTECH schools equip high school students with skills training in #STEM & Computer Science, enabling them to thrive in our modern economy. It was an honor to meet so many bright and talented students!”

One of Ivanka’s projects within her father’s administration is to promote a greater emphasis on science, technology engineering and mathematics by American schools.
