Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving claimed he doesn’t think Christmas is a holiday, and it’s a bit baffling.

“The hoopla on Christmas doesn’t really…I don’t really get into that. I don’t necessarily think of Christmas as a holiday. I’m just happy I get to be with my family, so looking forward to playing in front of the fans on the 25th and just playing against a high-level Washington team and going against great guys and then, of course, opening presents and that whole thing.” Irving told the media after his Thursday game against the New York Knicks.

First he didn’t believe the Earth was round, and now he doesn’t believe Christmas is a holiday. What land of fantasy are we living in here? Not only is Christmas a holiday, but it’s also arguably the best holiday of the year. You get together with your family, eat some good food, exchange a couple gifts, maybe go to church and do a variety of other great things.

What’s not to love about all of that? I’m a big Kyrie guy, but I have to disagree with him on every level.
