Let’s begin with saying that I am not normally a concealed carry guy. As a matter of fact, I am not even an open carry guy unless I am out hunting in a place where you need a sidearm. When doing that, I have always carried my S&W model 28 in a cheap-as-dirt nylon holster on my belt, in plain view, with no worries in the world.
On the other hand, I have owned a Springfield XD-s 40 for a few years now. And other than taking it to the range in a duffle bag, I have never carried it around much. So when the Daily Dealer received two of JM4 Tactical’s High-Ride QCC Holsters, I jumped at the opportunity to try the one that fit my XD-s.

As with every leather good, it takes a little time to break it in, but after a few uses it really began to take shape, locking the little Springfield into place, while still keeping it incredibly accessible with a quick yank.
The holster works really well with just about any pants, from normal jeans to suit pants. The magnetic retention system is incredibly strong and really locks everything in place, all while having an exceptionally low profile footprint on your waist.
I loaned it to one of my friend’s wives for nearly two weeks, and she was glad to report that she felt comfortable wearing with any set of pants, except for perhaps leggings and tight-fitting athletic gear.
I took it to the local range a couple of times to test it with a variety of outfits, ranging from weekend casual getup to a well-fitting suit. In both cases the presence of a gun would have been virtually undetectable by a bystander. All while feeling like my XD-s was securely held in place until I needed to use it.
As David mentioned in the other review, build quality is absolutely impeccable, and you will be hard-pressed to find anything that competes with JM4 Tactical QCC at a $70 price point.
I can comfortably say that the Tactical QCC worked well in nearly all configurations. The only exception would be when using an extended magazine; this tended to catch on my car’s seatbelt latch, driving the rear sight into my hip.
