Jon Gruden will be the next head coach of the Oakland Raiders, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
“Jon Gruden is going to be the next coach of the Oakland Raiders. The only question is when it happens,” Schefter told Scott Van Pelt during a Sunday night appearance on SportsCenter.
Well, ladies and gentlemen, it looks like it’s finally time for Gruden to get back in the coaching game. I know I said we should wait before getting excited about the latest “Grumors,” but Schefter weighing in with such confidence is a game changer.
Schefter doesn’t say things or claim to know things unless they’re true. If he says he’ll be the next coach of the Raiders then I believe that Jon Gruden is actually returning to the NFL.
What an absolutely wild time to be a football fan. We’ve waited years for Gruden to return, and now he’s reportedly going back to his old team. I can’t wait to see how this shakes out. Win or lose, Gruden back as an NFL coach will be incredibly fun.
