A renowned ISIS executioner, famous for throwing gay people off building rooftops, was captured in Mosul by Iraqi forces Friday.

Iraqi security forces captured the ISIS executioner, Abu Omer, also known as “White-Beard,” in Mosul after civilians learned of and reported his hideout location to the authorities, according to ABNA News. Omer has been caught on tape while participating in a stoning and is widely feared, given his penchant for throwing homosexual people off roofs. To be gay is to be an apostate, according to ISIS beliefs.

Omer’s arrest comes after Iraqi officials announced in early December that the war against the Islamic State has ended, following three years of brutal fighting to regain control of territory seized by the terrorist group.

“All Iraqi lands are liberated from terrorist Daesh gangs and our forces completely control the international Iraqi-Syrian border,” Lt. Gen. Abdul-Amir Rasheed Yar Allah said in a statement, according to the Associated Press(RELATED: WIPED OUT: Iraq Declares Victory Against Islamic State).

A recent investigation has also found roughly 133 mass graves of ISIS victims, with estimates of dead bodies ranging between 11,000 and 13,000, according to an AP tally.
