A Chicago man shot himself in the hand after getting into a fight with a the Lyft driver he was trying to rob early Thursday morning, the Chicago Tribune reported.

The 25-year-old suspect, whose name has yet to be released, called the driver around 2 a.m. Thursday. When the driver arrived, the man entered the car and drew a gun, pointing it at the driver. The driver, also 25, fought back, however, and the gun went off during the struggle, injuring the suspect’s hand, according to the Tribune. The driver, who has remained unnamed by police, was not injured in the incident.

Police arrived at the scene soon after, and video of the crime scene shows an SUV with Lyft decals as well as a black Chevy Malibu that reportedly had bullet holes in it. Despite their quick response, police said the gun was not recovered. (RELATED: NYC Terrorist Worked As An Uber Driver Before Vehicle Attack)
