Private businesses added 250,000 jobs in December, according to a report released Thursday by ADP Research Institute, the largest increase in that timespan since March.

The report, which is created in partnership with Moody’s Analytics, exceeded some educated expectations, many of which included estimates of anywhere from 165,000 to 225,000 additional jobs, according to Reuters.

ADP Research Institute’s employment statistics come a day before the Bureau of Labor Statistics, part of the U.S. Department of Labor, releases its monthly jobs report. Many predictions for unemployment rate show stability, but perhaps no vast improvements for now, remaining at 4.1 percent from the month prior, reports Reuters.

The private sector, in comparison, grew by nearly 200,000 jobs in November.
