Superstar Louisville and Heisman winning quarterback Lamar Jackson is headed to the NFL.

Jackson announced the news on Twitter and wrote in part:

My time in Louisville has produced some of the best memories of my life. I have had the pleasure of being in the presence of some of the best professors, coaches, advisers, training staff, athletes and fans, in the nation. With their help, I have been able to grow not only as a quarterback, but as a teammate, student, and most of all, a man.

Some people might doubt Jackson’s abilities at the next level, but I’m not one of them. He needs to put on some weight if he plans to survive the brutal violence of the NFL. There’s no question about that.

Having said all of that, I’m still very high on Jackson’s ability to win games at the next level. I like his arm, his speed and his ability to improvise. He might not have won as much as he would have liked at Louisville, but he wasn’t exactly surrounded by superstar talent.

I would not hesitate to take him in the first round if I was an NFL coach.
