Jacksonville Jaguars and former UCF quarterback Blake Bortles wants people to know that his old school is the true champion of college football.

Bortles addressed the media after beating the Buffalo Bills in the playoffs. It didn’t take long before he touched on UCF beating Auburn and becoming the “national champs.”

I’m so in on people saying UCF is the true champion of college football. The only undefeated team got left out of the playoff and then turned around to put a smackdown on Auburn.

For those of you who might have forgotten, Auburn won the SEC West and has wins over Georgia and Alabama. As far as I’m concerned, UCF has every right in the world to refer to themselves as national champs.

It also really pisses off SEC fans. That’s more than enough of a reason for me to embrace it. Make sure to tune in tonight to ESPN to watch the SEC championship game, which is also acting as a consolation championship for teams that weren’t good enough to go undefeated this past season.
