Firefighters arrived on scene about 30 minutes later. No evacuations were necessary and the fire is now under control, a New York Police Department spokesman told The Washington Post.
There was a small electrical fire in a cooling tower on the roof of Trump Tower. The New York Fire Department was here within minutes and did an incredible job. The men and women of the #FDNY are true heroes and deserve our most sincere thanks and praise! https://t.co/xuTmq1GBbj

The most lavish rooms in NYC’s Trump Tower are situated at the top of the skyscraper, including Trump’s own penthouse.
Videos of smoke streaming out of the roof of the 68-story building have popped up on social media.
