Backup Houston quarterback Kyle Allen is skipping his senior year of college, and going pro.
Houston Chronicle reporter Joseph Duarte recently tweeted, “Source: Houston quarterback Kyle Allen plans to skip final year of college eligibility and has hired an agent for purpose of entering NFL draft.”

This should be really entertaining, especially when you consider the fact he got benched after his first three starts this season. Guys who don’t cut it at a program the likes of Houston rarely go on and play in the NFL. That’s not how that works at all.
However, Allen does have some serious raw talent. He was once upon a time supposed to be the guy to replace Johnny Manziel, and lead Texas A&M to many more seasons of lots of wins. That obviously failed miserably.
I see absolutely no situation where Allen gets drafted. Absolutely none. However, maybe he’ll bounce around some practice squads and get a shot somewhere down the road. Either way, it’s going to be very interesting to see how this ends.
