‘Living On A Different Planet’: Obama Pokes At Fox News Viewers In Letterman Show [VIDEO]
Former president Barack Obama poked at Fox News viewers Saturday, saying they are “living on a different planet” than an NPR listener.
Obama, appearing on David Letterman’s new Netflix show, said, “One of the biggest challenges we have to our democracy is the degree to which we don’t share a common baseline of facts. What the Russians exploited–but it was already here–is we are operating in completely different universes. If you watch Fox News, you are living on a different planet than you are if you, you know, listen to NPR.”
The former president made headlines in December after invoking Nazi Germany in what many saw as a comparison to President Trump. He said, “We have to tend to this garden of democracy or else things could fall apart quickly. That’s what happened in Germany in the 1930s, which despite the democracy of the Weimar Republic and centuries of high-level cultural and scientific achievements, Adolph Hitler rose to dominate. Sixty million people died. So, you’ve got to pay attention. And vote.” (RELATED: Obama, Media Doing Their Best Glenn Beck Routine During Trump’s First Year In Office)
