Kelly Lays Out What Trump Wants In A DACA Deal
White House Chief of Staff John Kelly laid out what exactly the president wants in a deal on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program during a Wednesday night Fox News segment.
Kelly, speaking with host Bret Baier, said President Donald Trump wants to see $20 billion for a border wall, along with 700 miles of addition wall and fencing. The president also wants to see a tamp down on chain migration, with such immigration only applying to the nuclear family, Kelly added.
“We can talk about this, but that’s where he is,” Kelly told Baier.
Democrats and Republicans are struggling to get an agreement passed on DACA as the government is at risk of getting shut down. Kelly met with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Wednesday to see if a deal could be made. The caucus said the talks were “positive,”however, a concrete agreement wasn’t reached, Politico reported.
