President Donald Trump criticized Democratic lawmakers for blocking passage of a spending bill Friday and shutting down the government, in a series of Monday tweets.
The Democrats are turning down services and security for citizens in favor of services and security for non-citizens. Not good!

Democrats have shut down our government in the interests of their far left base. They don’t want to do it but are powerless!

Senate Democrats blocked the passage of a continuing resolution late Friday which would have kept the government funded for another month, ostensibly in a bid to preserve Obama-era protections for illegal immigrants brought to the U.S. as children. Democratic lawmakers however have yet to indicate what exactly they want in exchange to end the shutdown.
Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell will bring a spending bill to the floor Monday in a sign that a deal to re-open the government may be imminent. McConnell indicated to Democrats that he will bring a bill to the floor next month addressing the DACA program as a concession.
