The Grammys Shockingly Had Very Little Politics Involved

The Grammys were Sunday night, and most of the night’s participants checked their politics at the door.

Don’t get me wrong — there were a couple moments where politics were injected into the show, but overall nothing was too crazy.

Camila Cabello gave a short speech about DACA, Hillary Clinton had a cringeworthy appearance.

I guess that those attending the Grammys saw the thrashing the Golden Globes got for being insanely political, and decided it’d be better to just stick to the material. That’s a smart choice because I was able to actually sit through the whole show.

You can safely assume that I’m the definition of your average fan. I can stomach a lot of garbage from these awards shows, but I turned the Golden Globes off within 30 minutes. Just couldn’t handle one second of it. The Grammys could have easily followed the exact same path, but fortunately it didn’t.

The music was entertaining, the show was well put together and we weren’t forced to get lectured by millionaires about how much America sucks. I think we can chalk this one up to a win for the fans and viewers.
