Mark Salling has reportedly died of an apparent suicide Tuesday, according to TMZ. He was 35 years old.

Authorities told the outlet the former “Glee” star’s body was found near a river bed in Sunland in the Los Angeles area, which is the area where he lived. The report said that his exact cause of death is not exactly known, though sources told them he might have died from hanging himself. (RELATED: ‘Glee’ Actor Fired From ‘Gods And Secrets’ Following Child Porn Indictment)

Salling was awaiting sentencing after he plead guilty last year for being in possession of child pornography involving “prepubescent minors” with some 50,000 images of underage children.

Sentencing in the case was to take place in March. He would have spent between 4 to 7 years behind bars as part of the plea agreement.

The actor was arrested in December 2015 after investigators said they found thousands of images and hundreds of videos depicting child pornography on computers and thumb drives that belonged to Salling.

Another TMZ story in August said that the actor had cut his wrist in attempted suicide. However, his lawyers denied it.
