The Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots are headed to Minneapolis for what’s forecasted to be the coldest Super Bowl in history.

The National Weather Service forecasts a low of -9 degrees Fahrenheit with a high of 8 degrees Fahrenheit. If that forecast holds, it’ll be the coldest championship National Football League game on record.

Luckily for fans, Super Bowl 52 will be played indoors. U.S. Bank Stadium is no stranger to frigid weather, and temperatures inside the stadium should be dry and in the 60s.

Outside the stadium, it’ll be freezing. Anyone planning to tailgate (Lord knows why) should be prepared for temperatures in the single digits with wind chill as low as -15 degrees Fahrenheit. Some snow is also expected over the weekend.

Meanwhile, football fans watching the game in Los Angeles can do so in shorts and t-shirts. Temperatures are expected to be in the 70s, with some areas seeing temperatures in the low 80s.

NOW WATCH:

But looking for last-minute tickets to Minneapolis from Los Angeles will see staggeringly high prices. Google Flights shows round-trip economy tickets range from more than $400 to $1,700 — a first-class ticket could cost more than $8,900 round-trip.

First-class tickets on a Saturday Delta Airlines flight from LAX to Minneapolis started at more than $15,000.

When the Patriots won Super Bowl LI in Miami, temperatures were in the upper 70s.

The coldest Super Bowl on record is the 1982 game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Cincinnati Bengals, according to NBC Philadelphia. The temperature was 16 degrees outside, but the game was played indoors at the Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan.

Super Bowl VI was the coldest outdoor game on record. The Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins battled it out in 39 degree weather in New Orleans.
