Cleveland Browns lineman and NFL legend Joe Thomas credited beer and cheese as the reason Wisconsin’s offensive line is near unstoppable every year.
“It’s just the beer and the cheese curds really. From the moment you’re born you’re sitting in your high chair and your dad’s giving you sips of beer. All those carbs add up over time to being f**king huge,” Thomas explained on the podcast Pardon My Take.
That’s what I call the right answer to any question about Wisconsin. Of course cheese curds and beer are the reason for just about everything successful in Wisconsin. My state loves eating cheese and we love drinking beer. Those are two pillars that have made the Badger state the best in the nation.
The reality of the situation is that he’s not even kidding. Eating and drinking a ton of booze is a pretty good way to get big. What do big guys end up doing? Playing offensive line for the Wisconsin Badgers and winning a ton of football games. They go hand in hand together. Joe Thomas is just telling it like it is.
