In the last few weeks, some mock trailers for a “Crocodile Dundee” remake dropped and fans were eager to find out whether we’d actually see a reboot in the future. And after much speculation, a two minute trailer, which aired during Super Bowl LII on Sunday, night finally gave us a final answer.

The supposed reboot would feature Australian actors Chris Hemsworth, Hugh Jackman, and Margot Robbie, along with overall savage Danny McBride.

But as it was revealed last night, the remake is not going to happen. And fans are not happy.

So because this is 2018 and people with internet access can actually shape pop culture, fans created a petition to turn the $27 million ad campaign into an actual movie.

The petition, found here, is called “Bring Back Dundee.” It formally expresses fans’ frustration with the teasers and demands a remake soon.

“On behalf of Crocodile Dundee lovers around the world, we petition Paul Hogan and actors to create a new instalment of the movie,” the petition reads. “Australia wants it, the world wants it. Stop teasing us and make it happen!”

So far, the petition has close to 3,000 signatures. Not bad, since it’s less than 24 hours old.
