Just a day after Carson Wentz became a Super Bowl champion, the Philadelphia quarterback asked his girlfriend Maddie Oberg to marry him.

Wentz proposed on a candlelit rooftop, and although he didn’t make it clear when or where it took place, we’re assuming it was recent. Given what he revealed on social media, it was a special moment.

“She said YES! And now Maddie and I both got us a ring,” he wrote in a tweet. “Can’t wait to marry my best friend! God is doing some amazing things and I can’t thank him enough!”

The young NFL star and Oberg haven’t been together long. The beautiful brunette first popped up on Wentz’s Instagram account after the quarterback got out of surgery due to a season-ending ACL injury.

“The comeback officially begins now,” Wentz wrote. “The Lord truly blessed me with this beautiful young lady to walk by my side and support me through all of this!”

Wentz was on course for a MVP season before the devastating knee injury, but acted as an exemplary teammate when his backup QB Nick Foles took the reigns in his absence. Foles went on to carry Philadelphia to the Eagles first Super Bowl victory in franchise history.
