Johnny Manziel’s Twitter is causing problems for Texas A&M and the NCAA.

Manziel has been tweeting at recruits of his former school, where he won the Heisman Trophy at.

However, that’s apparently all coming to an end. Johnny Football tweeted Wednesday, “Due to always controversial NCAA rules I will no longer be able to @ any recruits. My apologies…”

This seems pretty stupid. Of all the things Manziel could be causing trouble for, the NCAA has decided his Twitter is an issue. Are you kidding me? Seems a bit absurd that you can’t tweet at recruits.

It’d be one thing if Manziel was paying recruits or funneling them benefits. There’s been no sign of that. How is tweeting at a recruit a problem? It’s not improper for fans to do it, although I would advise against it because it’s very weird.

There are plenty of things to came after Manziel for, but tweeting at recruits just seems so minor and irrelevant. That goes for every athlete who has ever played a college sport. Once again the NCAA has proven to be a joke.
