President Donald Trump opted not to golf at Mar-a-Lago on Saturday despite the beautiful weather, citing respect for the victims of the Florida school shooting.

Trump and First Lady Melania flew down to Broward County, Florida on Friday to visit the local hospital and meet with law enforcement officials after 17 people were killed in a shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School. (RELATED: Trump Thanks Law Enforcement For Work On Florida School Shooting)

Trump will be staying at his Mar-a-Lago resort, which is about 40 miles from Stoneman Douglas, but he will not be playing any golf while he is there on Saturday.

According to Bloomberg reporter Jennifer Jacobs, the “White House wants to respect the dead and the mourners…memorial services continue.”

CNN also reported that Trump was originally supposed to go to Mar-a-Lago before visiting the hospital on Friday, but opted to go straight to the hospital instead. He also cancelled a planned event on infrastructure.
