Anti-gun students in the Washington, D.C., area held a “lie-in” Monday for three minutes to represent the time it took for Florida massacre suspect Nikolas Cruz to murder 17 students and teachers.
The students, from a group named Teens for Gun Reform, held signs displaying messages like “we call B.S.” and “military-style weapons have no place on our streets,” reported Patch.

“We have organized this protest in solidarity with all of those who were affected by the horrific school shooting in Florida last Wednesday,” said Teens for Gun Reform in a press release obtained by NBC Washington. “We call on President Trump and leaders from both parties to finally act in the interest of America’s youth and end these tragic mass shootings! It is imperative that American children are safe in their classrooms, churches, malls, movie theaters and streets!”
