The Minnesota Gophers revealed the dumbest football helmets I’ve ever seen Tuesday.

ESPN’s Darren Rovell tweeted photos of the home and away helmets and wrote, “Gophers ready to “Row The Boat,” will have oars on their helmets for the 2018 season.”

Minnesota football coach P.J. Fleck is all about the “Row the boat” mentality, and it’s so dumb. The Gophers got rocked on a regular basis last year, and my boys in Madison put a beatdown on them for the ages to end the year.

You’d think that’d maybe convince them to drop this little shtick. Nope. Instead, Fleck decided to double down with helmets that feature oars. Are you kidding me? Are we out here playing football or are we out here for the gimmicks?

Last time I check football is about what you do on the field. It’s not about the uniforms and the showmanship, which is often only employed by loser teams. Minnesota’s program is laughable. We wouldn’t even take their starters in Madison to prep our third string. What an abomination to Big Ten football.

The Big Ten is a conference for full grown men. It’s not a conference for people who want to play dress up hour with their new helmets. Get this Fleck clown out of here, and let the real men at OSU, PSU and Wisconsin take care of business for the Big Ten.
