MSNBC host Joe Scarborough claimed he is “95 percent pro gun,” Tuesday on “Morning Joe,” despite constantly flip flopping on the Second Amendment.

Scarborough was discussing Mitt Romney’s Senate bid when he pivoted to himself and said he was being unfairly attacked by conservatives for his gun control record.

“First of all, a couple of days ago before anybody was saying in the Republican party, now Donald trump was saying it, it actually was courageous for Mitt Romney to go out and say we can’t sit by and say there is nothing we can do about these shootings,” Scarborough said. “[Romney] was the first one to sort of put his toe into that water which trust me, as a conservative, I know. That’s hot water.”

“Even if you do something that 90 percent of Americans support, the NRA, for instance, they do not care that I’m like 95 percent pro gun. If you are — if you do what Mitt Romney did, they go to war. They care about the 5 percent. That’s how they raise all their money, by the extreme 5 percent,” Scarborough added.

Scarborough has taken heat in the media recently for his outward push for stricter gun control, despite his past record of strongly defending the Second Amendment.

Author Jay Cost recently called out him out on Twitter by for being inconsistent on gun rights and selling out his beliefs.
