If you’re a “Game of Thrones fan,” you should take a second to appreciate one of the show’s most important actresses today, because Sophie Turner just turned 22.
It doesn’t feel that long ago when Turner first graced the television screen, but it’s been seven years since she broke out as auburn-haired Sansa Stark in HBO’s critically acclaimed drama.
Turner surprisingly hasn’t individually contributed to Thrones’ record of 38 Primetime Emmys for a drama series with “Outstanding Actress” nominations, but she’s undeniably a fan favorite.

Just as Turner’s character is important to us fans, it’s instrumental to her versatility as an actress. Turner believes her covert schemes as Sansa led her to other prominent roles, particularly young Jean Grey in the 2016 Marvel film “X-Men Apocalypse.”
“I think maybe one of the reasons that they chose me for [Jean] is because they saw the dark side of Sansa,” said Turner in an interview with IGN.
Whether she’s the Lady of Winterfell or a superhero with telekinetic powers, Turner is an all-around class act.
