I just crushed out all of the first season of “Westworld” over the past couple days, and it was a great reminder how awesome the show is.

I’ve watched the first season probably three or four times over the past 14 months. Before these past couple of days, however, I had never set out to watch all the episodes for in-depth viewing in preparation for season two.

I made a mental note to look for any observations that I might have missed over the previous viewings, which, to be honest, were sometimes done after a few beers.

I’m sure there’s nothing I picked out that I didn’t already know, but watching the series episode-after-episode really shows what an incredible job HBO did in creating this masterpiece.

The Man in Black’s journey with Dolores is one of the best things I’ve ever seen on television. As he says in the show, it’s not really challenging if one side is programmed to lose. Well, we all know how the finale went down. (Spoiler:) Several of the hosts are free, Dolores is out there drawing blood, the Man in Black has been shot, Ford is dead and all hell has broken loose.

Also, I don’t think anybody could have predicted the whole plot-twist of Dolores being Wyatt. The evidence is all there, but we were just looking in the wrong places. In the words of Ford, “Have you ever questioned your reality?”

Season two gets here April 22, and I can’t wait. It’s going to be epic.
