World-renowned actress Drew Barrymore turns 43 Thursday!

Barrymore comes from a lineage of famous actors, most notably her grandfather John Barrymore. She began her acting career at just seven years old, starring in her godfather Steven Spielberg’s production, “E.T.: The Extraterrestrial.”

Her adolescent years were less cheerful, featuring substance abuse and two rehab stays. Barrymore wrote her autobiography, “Little Girl Lost” at just 15 years old. However, after overcoming these obstacles continued her success in the film industry, starring in hit movies such as “The Wedding Singer,” “50 First Dates” and “Charlie’s Angels.”

Besides acting, she also founded a production company named “Flower Films” alongside Nancy Juvoner, producing another successful film, “Donnie Darko.” Barrymore’s modeling portfolio consists of advertisements for Covergirl Cosmetics and Gucci. She enjoys photography as a hobby, publishing a collection of her photographs, “Find It In Everything,” in 2014. She went on to publish another autobiography in 2015, titled “Wildflower.”

Barrymore has pursued multiple philanthropical endeavors, donating $1 million as an ambassador against hunger for the United Nations World Food Program.
