Natalie Portman’s new movie “Annihilation” will be released across America tomorrow, and it looks like an outstanding movie.
The plot of the movie, according to IMDB, is, “A biologist’s husband disappears. She puts her name forward for an expedition into an environmental disaster zone, but does not find what she’s expecting. The expedition team is made up of the biologist, an anthropologist, a psychologist, a surveyor, and a linguist.”
I’ve been big on this movie ever since I saw the first preview. It hooked me immediately. Anything that involves Natalie Portman with an M-16 trying to kill dangerous beasts is something I’m more than willing to give a chance.
Portman has been a hit with me ever since I saw her in the “Star Wars” prequels. Were those movies particularly good? They weren’t outstanding, but Portman was awesome. Her career has only gone up from there. I’m not sure I can name a bad movie that she’s done off the top of my head. “Brothers” was one of the most powerful and dark movies I’ve ever seen, and she’s one of the main reasons why.
I have a good sense that “Annihilation” is going to be a great film, and she’s going to be a major reason why.
