More than 50 percent of Americans approve of how President Donald Trump is handling the economy and his administration’s efforts to combat terrorism, according to a Gallup poll released Thursday morning.

Fifty-one percent of Americans think Trump is doing well when it comes to the economy, with 47 percent of Americans disapproving of his economic agenda. Some 52 percent of Americans approve of the Trump administration’s handling of terrorism while 46 percent disapprove.

The least popular topics include the administration’s relationship with Russia and the news media. Only 37 percent of Americans approve of the administration’s relationship with Russia and just 34 percent approve of how Trump deals with news outlets.

Gallup pollsters conducted phone interviews from Feb. 1-10 and the results are the responses of 1,044 adults, aged 18 and older, living in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The margin of error is plus or minus 4 percentage points.

The Gallup polling data for the economy is in-line with a recent New York Times poll about how voters feel about the recently signed GOP tax reform bill.

A recent New York Times poll conducted by SurveyMonkey shows that 51 percent of Americans approve of the tax bill, compared to just 37 percent when the bill was entering the final stages of debate in late December.
