President Donald Trump told the crowd at the 2018 Conservative Political Action Conference on Friday that an armed teacher “would have shot the hell out of” the Parkland school shooter.

Trump re-upped his calls for arming teachers in schools so that they can try to stop school shootings. He argued that while not all teachers would be willing or able to carry, there would be enough teachers that the schools would be safer.

He added that the teachers would carry concealed so that would-be shooters would not know who was carrying on campus.

“And the beauty is, it’s concealed,” Trump asserted. “Nobody would ever see it unless they needed it. It’s concealed. So this crazy man who walked in wouldn’t even know who it is that has it. That’s good. That’s not bad, that’s good.”

“And a teacher would have shot of the hell out of him before he knew what happened,” he declared.

Trump said teachers are a good line of defense for schools because they “love their students” and “don’t want their students to be killed or hurt.”
