Jennifer Lawrence was understandably “terrified” for her nude scenes in “Red Sparrow,” but ended up feeling empowered by stripping down for her upcoming thriller.

Lawrence was one of many celebrities targeted in a massive photo hack back in 2014, which led to her own intimate photos being leaked online. She’s actively avoided roles that require her to be naked ever since, but she decided to face her fear for her most recent role. “I read this script that I’m dying to do And the one thing that’s getting in my way is nudity. And I realized there’s a difference between consent and not,” Lawrence told “60 Minutes” in a recent interview. “And I showed up for the first day and I did it. And I felt empowered. I feel like something that was taken from me I got back and am using in my art.”
Of course, the 27-year-old actress didn’t forget about the hack altogether, but said that choosing to put her body out there made her feel like she stripped the significance from the invasion of her privacy.
“I did feel like I took the power out of– out of having my– my body taken from me. I felt like I– I took it back and I could, and I– and I could almost own it again,” Lawrence said.

Not only did Lawrence conquer her fear of going nude for her role as a Russian spy, but it sounds like she got comfortable with it. In fact, the Academy Award-winner was walking around naked on set so much she thinks she made everyone else uncomfortable.
“If you don’t like boobs, you should not go see ‘Red Sparrow,'” Lawrence said.
