Stacey Dash, otherwise known as Cher’s best friend Dionne in the 90’s movie “Clueless,” is running to be the next U.S. representative in California’s 44th District.

Dash is an actress-turned-conservative commentator and recently published the book, “There Goes My Social Life: From Clueless to Conservative.”

Dash filed to run for the 44th district seat in California today, which covers Compton, southern Los Angeles and the LA Harbor area. Her FEC file reveals her likely campaign motto will be “Dash to DC.”

I don’t know much about Stacey Dash’s politics, but I do know that I liked her in “Clueless” and I especially liked her after she was caught swearing on live television while engaged in a heated debate about Barack Obama’s presidency. She takes constant heat from viewers on the left because she’s a conservative African American female, and apparently that threatens people.

It could be an uphill climb for Dash to pull out a victory in the 44th district. The seat’s been held by a Democrat since the 2012 election and voted for Hillary in the 2016 election by a landslide.

But Stacey Dash is a powerful woman with some name recognition and a fiery personality. It might be what California needs.
