Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan blames “the Jews” for the fact that Democratic Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison has distanced himself from the notoriously anti-white and anti-Semitic group.

Ellison, a former Nation of Islam associate, distanced himself from the group when running for Congress in 2006. However, as The Daily Caller has reported, Ellison has repeatedly attended meetings with Farrakhan during his time in Congress, including a private visit to Farrakhan’s hotel room. Ellison again distanced himself from Farrakhan in an interview last week, although he would not deny that any of those meetings took place. Farrakhan addressed Ellison’s ties to the group on Sunday in his annual Saviours’ Day speech.

“Keith was in the Nation in 1995,” Farrakhan said, adding that Ellison “wants to help his community. He’s a lawyer so he wants to help his community, so he wants to become a congressman.”

“Let me tell you something. When you want something in this world, the Jew holds the door,” Farrakhan said. (RELATED: Three Democrats Attended Private Dinner With Iran’s President And Louis Farrakhan)

“He wanted to help his community. He wanted to be a congressman,” he added. “So when the Jews found out that he was in the Nation, [they said] ‘You’ve got to denounce Farrakhan as an anti-Semite, and maybe we’ll let you run.'”

Farrakhan instructed Nation of Islam members not to attack Ellison “because you ain’t so strong yourself. If you want something from the white man, and you have to denounce me, how will you act when your trial comes?”
