It wasn’t too long ago that “The View” host Joy Behar dragged Vice President Mike Pence over the coals for saying he talks to God.
“It’s one thing if you talk to Jesus,” Behar said. “It’s another thing if Jesus talks to you. That’s called mental illness, if I’m not correct.”

The comment sparked outrage and ABC received over 30,000 complaints for Behar’s comments.
But this week, TMZ paparazzi caught “Today” host Kathie Lee Gifford leaving lunch when they asked her what she thought about Oprah’s recent comment that she would wait for God to tell her to run for President in 2020.
“I think that she’s smart to listen to God and nobody else,” Gifford said. She also said she listens for God’s signs in her life and Oprah should do the same.
Now listen. I’m a Christian, and I’m not going to criticize anyone else for their Christian values. Joy Behar rose through the ranks of village idiot very quickly when she did that.
But the hypocrisy here is just too rich. Not two weeks ago, the cackling senior citizens on “The View” ripped Mike Pence for having a “mental illness” because he has regular conversations with God. They treated him like he’d revealed he does regular human sacrifices in his living room every Friday night.
Then — not only does Oprah say she’s waiting for a sign from God about running — Kathy Lee Gifford turns around and says she does the same as Mike Pence. She verbatim told the paparazzi that she listens to God before she does most anything.
Apparently, according to mainstream talk show hosts, religion can only be classified as mental illness when somebody on the right is involved. Otherwise, all religious practices get a green light. Doesn’t matter if you’re Oprah, Kathy Lee Gifford, or a jihadi taking a jaunt down the streets of Ramadi. As long as you didn’t vote for Trump, you’re safe in the cushy echo chamber.
