An NFL assistant coach was overheard discussing some of his drafting strategies during the Scouting Combine this weekend.

The coach, whose identity has not been disclosed by the few ears privy to the comment, has a pretty bold strategy for draft day.

“I would punch myself in the nuts many, many, many times to be able to draft him,” he said, according to the Bleacher Report’s Mike Freeman.

We can probably cross a few people off the list of who this guy might be. Saquon Barkley is a Penn State running back with a strong chance of being drafted first. And since the Browns have both the first and fourth pick, coaches in Cleveland probably don’t feel compelled to resort to self-inflicted pain in order to secure Barkley.

Not to mention, the Browns are likely pretty immune to this type of pain after coming off of yet another abysmal season. I’m not a guy so I can’t speak for the entire gender but I’d imagine going 0-16 probably feels similar to getting punched in the nuts many, many, many times.
