President Donald Trump praised the House intelligence committee’s majority report finding no evidence of collusion between his 2016 presidential campaign and the Russian government.

“We’re very happy with the decision by the house intelligence committee saying there was absolutely no collusion with respect to Russia and it was a very powerful decision,” Trump said, adding that it was “a very strong decision backed up by understanding. They’ll be releasing hundreds of pages of evidence. We are very happy with that decision. It was a powerful decision that left no doubt. I want to thank the house intelligence committee and all the people.”

The President previously issued an all caps statement Monday evening saying:

The intelligence committee said in a Monday statement: “We have found no evidence of collusion, coordination, or conspiracy between the Trump campaign and the Russians.” The report will diverge from the intelligence community’s assessment in January 2017 that the Russian government meddled in the 2016 presidential election to help the Trump campaign.

The report is based on dozens of interviews with key witnesses, a review of hundreds of thousands of documents and a nearly year long investigative process. “After more than a year, the Committee has finished its Russia investigation and will now work on completing our report,” chairman Devin Nunes said in a statement, adding that the full, 150-page report will be made available after declassification.
