A guest on CNN’s “New Day” Wednesday said that despite some small gains in Pennsylvania, getting the white working class to vote Democrat is “still a tough, tough slog.”

The Atlantic’s Ron Brownstein said, “It continues the pattern we see, just enormous Democratic energy, and a surge in Democratic turnout. Brownstein noted that there “are gains” for Democrats–“but still tough, grudging gains from 2016 in those areas. It says to me that the principle Democratic opportunity is still more of the white collar suburbs and the big metro areas.”
