Fox News anchor Shepard Smith has signed a new multiyear contract, the network announced on Thursday.

The length and amount of Smith’s contract has not been disclosed, reported The Hollywood Reporter. He currently hosts “Shepard Smith Reporting” during the 3 PM hour and has been with the network since its inception in 1996.

“Shepard Smith is an exemplary journalist whose skill in anchoring breaking news is unrivaled,” Fox News executive chairman Rupert Murdoch said. “His powerful storytelling on both television and digital platforms has elevated our entire news gathering process.”

Smith said he was grateful to be staying with the network and leading their breaking news coverage.

“I am incredibly proud to be part of a group of journalists who helped build the Fox news division from scratch 22 years ago and extremely thankful for the opportunity to continue to lead our breaking news coverage for years to come,” Smith said in a statement. “Our team’s commitment to delivering facts to our loyal viewers in context and with perspective, without fear or favor, is unwavering…I am excited for the future and honored to continue to call Fox News my home.”

“Shepard Smith Reporting” averaged 1.5 million viewers in the coveted 25-54 age category throughout 2017.
