The plane carried over $378 million gold, diamonds and platinum belonging to a Russian mining company. Only the gold bars fell out of the hold, fortunately. Workers were able to recover all 200 gold bars, despite several getting buried in the snow, Live Science reported. Most were on the runway, while the plane kept flying for 10 miles after the malfunction and continued dropping cargo as it went.
The precious debris reportedly injured no one. Russian transportation officials are investigating the incident to determine whether maintenance staff are to blame.
