The first couple days of the NCAA tournament are always tough for the working fans out there, but luckily for the alumni of the University of North Carolina their basketball team is taking care of it.
Carolina basketball posted a letter on Friday, signed by head coach Roy Williams, excusing all of the working Tar Heels out there from work. (RELATED: Roy Williams Opens Up His NCAA Press Conference In Surprising Fashion)
“Please excuse (blank) from work today. As you are probably aware, it is officially an unofficial state holiday as the Tar Heels are beginning their run in the NCAA tournament,” the letter reads. “(Blank) will need to save all of their energy and positive vibes for the game. If you do not have a team to cheer for, we invite you to watch and support this year’s North Carolina Tar Heels, in our pursuit of another national championship.”
“We appreciate your understanding. Go Heels!”

Obviously most employers wouldn’t accept this note as an excuse to get out of work, even if it is signed by the legendary Roy Williams. But I’d argue that you don’t want to be working for somebody who can’t get on board for this.
The beginning of the NCAA tournament is like Christmas for college basketball fans, and everybody gets off for Christmas right?
I’ll be handing my letter to my boss right after finishing this post. If he doesn’t accept it, don’t expect to see another article from me anytime soon.
