The people behind “Westworld” have a plan to deal with the theories of fans on the internet for the second season.

Co-creator Jonathan Nolan was at SXSW to discuss the show with fans, and it doesn’t sound like he’s going to let fan theories derail the second season.

“We love to fuck with Reddit as much as possible,” Nolan recently told a SXSW audience when discussing the second season.

I don’t know how I initially missed these comments when they happened. I’m a “Westworld” hawk for new information, but this slipped past me. Hand up. I have to own that one. However, they’ve been gaining more and more traction on the internet over the past few days, which means fans are paying attention. That’s a good thing for everybody.

There’s no doubt that Nolan has a legit point here. Reddit was on fire during the first season. The only other show I’ve seen anything thing like it with before was “Game of Thrones.”

Nolan would be smart to try and get ahead of fans looking to drop spoilers or theories that turn out to be correct. I don’t want to brag, but I did call William becoming the Man in Black during the second episode of the season. Our office was also pretty much on top of the entire season when it came to theories. We were as solid as a rock.

Now, we did that without Reddit. We only used our combined brain power to get the job done. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what Nolan and company are able to come up with to stop info from spreading during the second season. I sure am happy to know HBO is more than willing to engage in a disinformation campaign. It makes me that much more excited for whatever is coming next.
