Second daughter Charlotte Pence responded with class to comedian John Oliver’s parody of her children’s book about family pet Marlon Bundo.
Charlotte Pence recently wrote a children’s book about the family bunny titled “Marlon Bundo’s A Day in the Life of the Vice President,” and announced she would be donating the proceeds to charities fighting human trafficking and supporting art therapy.
Oliver used his late night show to simultaneously mock the book and attack Pence’s views on LGBT rights, creating his own version that features Marlon Bundo seeking to enter a same-sex marriage. The proceeds from his book will be donated to charities for LGBT youth and AIDS prevention.
Pence responded to Oliver’s attack during a Tuesday segment on Fox Business, insisting that the parody version doesn’t bother her at all.
“I think, you know, imitation is the most sincere form of flattery in a way, but also…his book is contributing to charities that I think we can all get behind,” Pence said. “So, we have two books that are giving to charities, that are about bunnies, so I’m all for it.”
