“Game of Thrones” fans might have to wait until 2019 for the final season of George R.R. Martin’s hit HBO series, but they can at least look forward to one of his other creations hitting screens this year.

The author’s upcoming series “Nightflyers” is going to Syfy this fall and judging by the teaser trailer released on Tuesday, it looks like it’s going to be pretty wild.

The futuristic Syfy series, based on Martin’s early novellas, is set 75 years in the future and focuses on a team of scientists and a telepath “embarking on a journey to the edge of a solar system,” according to Fox News. “While away, they make first contact with an alien lifeform and horrors ensue.” (RELATED: ‘Game Of Thrones’ Stars Give Their Predictions For Season 8 After Season 7 Finale)

“‘Nightflyers’ is a haunted house story on a star ship,” Martin explains in the behind-the-scenes look at his new series. “It’s ‘Psycho’ in space.”

The series is expected to debut its 10-episode first season sometime in the fall of 2018.
