MSNBC’s Mike Barnicle scrupulously claimed on Tuesday that the Obama administration was “virtually scandal-free.”

WATCH:

Barnicle, a “Morning Joe” co-host, was interviewing former Obama press secretary Robert Gibbs when he conveniently forgot about Benghazi, the IRS targeting conservatives, Operation Fast and Furious, the claim that you could keep your doctor under Obamacare, VA waiting lists and the Clinton email scandal, just to name a few.

“You know, you stood there nearly every day in your tenure as press secretary, and I’m wondering about the presidency that you were a part of, and what you think about the damage that’s being done to the institution of the presidency today,” Barnicle asked, “given that you worked for a presidency that was virtually scandal-free and an exemplary person as president.”

“Now we have nearly the opposite,” Barnicle asserted.

Gibbs seemed so lost in the praise that he had to ask Barnicle to repeat the question.

“I don’t think we can solve problems in our country if we can’t sit down and talk about them,” Gibbs finally responded, not touching the claim that the administration he worked for was scandal-free.
