The media is getting its pom-poms out for a major anti-gun protest in Washington, D.C., this Saturday, with some networks devoting around-the-clock coverage starting as early as Friday.

Nearly every network will replace the entirety of their normal Saturday programming with live coverage of what is expected to be the largest anti-gun protest in U.S. history, according to press releases from many major news networks.

CNN will begin coverage at 6 a.m. Saturday and feature special editions of “The Van Jones Show” and “Erin Burnett OutFront” from New York — all focusing on gun violence in the nation’s schools.

No network seems more eager to give glowing coverage to the rally than MSNBC, which will begin featuring the event a day early on Friday. The network will also be hosting a “March for Our Lives” special from noon-3 p.m., on top of live coverage from the protest at John Marshall Park.

Instead of reporting live from the event, CBS opted to create a special documentary on the Parkland school shooting survivors. “39 Days” will premiere at 8 p.m. Saturday night.

Fox News will also present live coverage this weekend but did not block out specific times.

Finally, Univision seems to have turned the event into an activist opportunity, according to AdWeek: “The Spanish-language network is partnering with Mi Familia Vota and Voto Latino to host a Voter Registration Hub at Georgetown Law School. The partners will train volunteers, who will be stationed along the march route, to share voter education information and register eligible individuals.”

None of the aforementioned networks said whether any of the coverage would be balanced or feature activists who have alternative policy recommendations beside gun control to protect school children from shootings.
